About Us

Dr. Gayles earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and his Medical Degree from the SUNY Buffalo He received two years of his postdoctoral training in internal medicine at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his internal medicine residency and Cardiology fellowship at SUNY Buffalo.

Dr. Gayles became the first African-American Invasive Cardiologist in Western New York. He served as Chief of the Department of Medicine at Deaconess Hospital, Chief of the Department of Medicine, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Medical Director at Sheehan Memorial Hospital in Buffalo. He has held multiple committee positions at both Buffalo General Hospital and Erie County Medical Center. He is the president of Kenneth L Gayles, M.D., P.C.

Dr. Gayles is Board certified and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and of the American College of Physicians. Is a member of numerous other medical associations, Including the National Medical Association and the Association for Black Cardiologists where you served as its treasurer. He is currently the Vice President of the Greater Buffalo United Accountable Healthcare Network, founded in 2012 as one of the only Health Homes In Western New York.

Dr. Gayles has been active in the community serving on numerous boards including, the Board of Trustees of the UB Foundation, the Board of Trustees of First Shiloh Baptist Church, the Buffalo Philharmonic, Buffalo Prep and the New York State Board of Professional Medical Conduct. He served as the Chairman of the New York State Coalition on Smoking or Health after delivering the Keynote address at the annual New York State legislative breakfast.

His mission is to assist in the organization and delivery of a comprehensive healthcare system targeting the underserved of our community in western New York.

His goal is the elimination of disparity in healthcare delivery and in health statistics which plagues the Western New York community.
